Questions remain surrounding the death of 10-month-old Zeke following his fathers arrest

More questions than answers remain surrounding the death of "Baby Zeke" Best.

An Amber Alert was sent out throughout the state Friday, 10-month-old boy kidnapped. Details were sparse, but the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office reported that he was taken by his father who is the suspect in a murder. The suspect, Jeremy Best, was located Saturday morning after a pair of hunters found a nude man sleeping in a sleeping bag on the side of a remote road and contacted police.

Responding officers found baby Zeke deceased at the scene. Jeremy Best has been arrested and was charged Monday morning in court with the murder of his pregnant wife. Best allegedly shot her in the back, killing her and her unborn child.

The Bonneville County Prosecutors Office has announced that baby Zeke's death is being treated as an intentional homicide. An autopsy is being conducted Monday with the hopes of shedding more light on what happened to the child.

Jeremy Best is being held without bond and the judge has accepting a motion by the defense to have him undergo a competency evaluation with Health and Welfare. A tentative preliminary hearing has been scheduled, though the judge acknowledged that it will likely be pushed back depending on the status of the evaluation. Best has been charged with two counts of first degree murder. More charges are possible once the investigation into Zeke's death has rendered more answers.
